Fulfillment Update + My Vacation
about 2 years ago – Thu, Apr 14, 2022 at 03:30:51 PM

Let's start with this milestone: All of the stock for all of the remaining shipments is in the respective warehouses. (In related news, I'm officially retiring the Sea Freight Status google sheet.) In fact, some international shipments are already underway. Let's get to it.

US/Canada/Rest of the World: All of these orders are out the door (with the exception of 4 "problem" orders that we are contacting to resolve). Some of our US and Canadian backers may not yet have received everything, but you all should continue to be getting those over the next week or two. Likewise, the orders for the rest of the world are underway, but of course they can take some time to make the long journey. Reminder: If you have not received any shipping notice, please refer to this update. If you have a problem with the shipment, e.g., lost or damaged, please refer to this update. I know some folks have submitted issues and are waiting patiently for responses. We are working diligently through these requests.

United Kingdom: Fulfillment should begin sometime in the last two weeks of the month.

European Union: Fulfillment should begin sometime in the last two weeks of the month.

Australia/New Zealand: Fulfillment is now underway. I'm excited to see some folks "down under" start playing. (Do you all hate that phrase?) They expect to have all shipments out within the next two weeks.

Asia: Fulfillment is now underway for China and Hong Kong. Following are the other destinations and their expected ship dates:

  • Indonesia: Late May/early June
  • Japan: Late April/early May
  • Malaysia: Late May
  • Philippines: mid/late May
  • Singapore: Late April/early May
  • South Korea: Late April/early May
  • Taiwan: Late April
  • Thailand: mid/late May
  • Vietnam: Late April/early May

My Vacation

In personal news, I'm heading off on a vacation with my wife. I'll be out of the country from April 11-21. We're going on a cruise for our 25th anniversary. (One of the places we're visiting is Diocletian's Palace in Split that served as Daenerys Targaryan's Palace in Meereen!) Importantly, I'll be in a palace dungeon or in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea for a large part of the time, so I'm going to be relatively inaccessible. Not to worry. QML and Jenn will continue to work on the logistics side of things to make sure everything goes smoothly. I'm the more public side of the team, replying to comments, managing the KS messages, and jumping in to BGG posts. In particular, I do not expect to be able to stay on top of KS messages while I'm gone. So, until I get back, please use the various forms in the updates linked above. However, if you need immediate and direct help, please email [email protected], and Jenn will be there to respond. Fair warning: She's swamped right now, so patience is a must.

"Exploring the Tower" Streaming Tomorrow
about 2 years ago – Fri, Apr 08, 2022 at 11:11:54 AM

Just a quick update to let folks know that we are doing a special twitch stream tomorrow.

"Exploring the Tower" will feature team members Tim Burrell-Saward, Charlie Bruce, and Bjorn Elieser Jonsson and will be moderated by RG's own game design team member, Brian Neff. Together, they will literally strip everything away to do a deep dive on the Tower's inner workings, from the electronics to the mechanics to the app connection. The Tower is one of the coolest game components ever created, so we thought you'd like to see how it really works. The team will also answer your questions in chat.

So come check it out live, tomorrow, Thursday, April 7th, at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST / 10:00 PM BST / WAY TOO EARLY in Asia. It'll stream on our Twitch channel  twitch.tv/restorationgames. And if you can't make the stream, you'll be able to check out the video on the channel, and we'll upload to our YouTube channel. See you there!

Fulfillment Update + Merch Store Discount
about 2 years ago – Tue, Apr 05, 2022 at 12:49:49 AM

Quick follow-up to our last update. (Reminder: If you are in the US or Canada and have not gotten notification that your game has shipped, check out this update; and if you are having trouble with the app, Tower, lost or damaged part, or the like, check out this update.) With US/Canada wrapping up, let's check in on the status at the other hubs.

United Kingdom: All stock is in the warehouse. Fulfillment is expected to start mid-April.

European Union: The games had another delay at port. BUT, we do have a tentative date for them to finally reach the warehouse, April 4th. Fulfillment is expected to start late April.

Australia/New Zealand: All stock is in the warehouse. Fulfillment is expected to start next week.

Asia: Fulfillment to China, Hong Kong, and Macao has already begun and should finish up over the next week or so. We should have regional ETA's for other destinations some time next week.

Someone pointed out that the merch store discount for backers had expired -- bad timing just as folks are getting their games. We have renewed the discount code. Reminder that we are still only able to ship merchandise to US and Canadian customers. If you've forgotten the code, you can find it in this backers-only update.

What To Do If You Are in the US/Canada and Didn't Get a Shipping Notice
about 2 years ago – Fri, Apr 01, 2022 at 03:03:07 AM

Initial fulfillment is complete for the US and Canada. To be specific, 99.5% of the shipments have left the warehouse. Importantly, this does not mean that everyone will have received their game by now. Some of you might be dealing with and aware of delays on FedEx's part in getting your game to you. And Canadian backers have just started actually receiving them, which should continue over the next week or so. There are approximately 90 orders that have not left the warehouse. Those comprise a few retailer orders that are taking longer to coordinate delivery and individual backers where there is some form of problem. QML are in the process of working on those problems.

If you are in the US or Canada, have not received notification that your order has shipped, and have not received a tracking number, please complete this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSefHrG48s72QWCPrqo1DNWfidn_TjyZ9fn-IEvMbIHme4A_XA/viewform

We will respond within two business days.

Reminder: If you did receive your notification/tracking number but are having issues with delivery or if you are having issues with the game, app, or the like, please refer to my prior update on how to resolve those issues.

I will have another update in a few days with the fulfillment status for the remaining hubs.

Big Update: Solving Problems + Dark Horde Minis + Fulfillment Status
about 2 years ago – Sat, Mar 26, 2022 at 12:20:07 AM

We're seeing more and more folks get their games every day. And we're hearing from lots of them how much fun they are having with it. We really appreciate folks reaching out to us to tell us their stories. Of course, with that many folks getting their games, people are going to have problems. So I want to update the process for dealing with any issue you might have. First and foremost, rest assured, whatever your issue is, we will get it solved for you.

Shipment Problem: If you are missing items in your shipment, had a mis-delivery, or the game was damaged in shipping, please use the QML contact form to report the issue. (I had previously been instructing folks to email QML, so this is a change to that process.)

Missing/Damaged Physical Game Components: If you have a damaged or missing specific component, e.g., a card or mini, please use the QML contact form to report the issue.

Technical Problems with the App or Tower: If you are having any sort of mechanical or electronic problem with the Tower or app, please go to our Support web page to begin the troubleshooting process. There is a lot of information on that page, so please read closely when trying to solve the problem. We are constantly updating our page with more information to help folks resolve these issues. We recently added a link to a document outlining the process for comprehensive troubleshooting. If you are unable to resolve the issue, please report it to us using the form on that page.

Rules Questions: We have a living FAQ on our Learning page, so that's a good place to start. You can also check out the Board Game Geek forums to see if anyone has asked the same question or, if not, post it yourself. (While you're over there, feel free to drop a 10 rating on the game if you're feeling so inclined -- we hit number 4 on the hotness today!) Or you can hit the rules channel on our discord, where you can get answers pretty quickly. And if you desperately need an answer ASAP, honestly, just ping me on twitter.

Phew! Now, a couple of specific issues that seem to keep popping up.

Card Sleeves: We thought it would be a fun little mini-game for you all to figure out which sleeves went with which cards. Apparently less fun than we thought. ;-) To clarify: The clear mini sleeves are for the corruptions (because they are horizontally oriented). The printed mini sleeves are for the heroic tests, potions, and quest items. The clear large sleeves are for the foes and companions. The printed large sleeves are for the treasures. Sorry for the confusion.

Dark Horde Minis: For those who picked up the minis expansion, you'll notice we manufactured them in a dark grey, darker than the hero minis. This was a decision we made later in the process. We felt they showed up better on the board and were easier to distinguish from the hero minis. This is intentional. It is not a result of too much wash. They do still have a wash though. For folks who think they are too dark, I want to encourage you to give them a quick paint job. I recently came across this video from someone who used this technique on their Dark Horde, and it looks amazing:

Even better, it is super simple. You really can't mess it up. I banged out the whole set in a couple of hours while I was watching basketball this past weekend. (At the risk of losing some followers, go Duke!) Here's a photo I posted to twitter of my handiwork.

With that out of the way, let's talk fulfillment.

US/Canada/Rest of the World: As I mentioned in the comments, QML have updated us that they expect to complete primary fulfillment by the end of this week. That means out the door, not on your doorstep. Importantly, there is still nothing to be concerned about if you have yet to receive your shipping notification. Annoyed? Sure. But not concerned. Please remember, someone is going to be the last person to get their game. It sucks, but it's a fact. First thing next week, I will post an update with information on what to do if you did not receive your shipping notification. Again, we will get you your game. So, if you did not get your notification by then, please hold off messaging us or QML until that update.

UK: The games are finally in the port but are not yet at the warehouse. We expect that confirmation to come in by the end of this week. Fulfillment should start in early to mid-April. We should have a more definitive starting date towards the end of next week.

EU: The ship remains anchored off the coast of Hamburg in what is unfortunately standard port delays these days. We will continue to monitor when that gets completed. Right now, we are expecting EU fulfillment to start mid-April but that could slip if the delay persists.

AU/NZ: The games have delivered to port but are not yet at the warehouse. Fulfillment should start mid-April.

Asia: VFI have started the fulfillment process. China, Hong Kong, and Macao should start getting their games as early as next week. ETAs for the other countries in the region can vary greatly based on local postal services, and we will pass on specific estimates for them in the next week or two.

There you have it. As always, we appreciate your continued patience.
