Rulebook for Your Perusal

Happy to finally present you all with the current draft of the rulebook. Before we get to it, the usual caveats apply. This is 95% final, but we are still adding some last-minute tweaks. To be clear, the rules have been done for quite some time, but we're still making minor edits and adding things like screenshot references, which naturally rely on the app development. In particular, you'll see some red "FPO" boxes. Those are "for placement only" and will be updated for the final version.

Often, with so many fresh eyeballs on a rulebook, folks will find stuff that we've become blind to. If you'd like to point out recommended edits or changes, we've created a Google form for that specific purpose. Of course, you're under no obligation to do so, but if you have feedback, it'll be a lot easier for us to work through that if it's well organized.

Finally, I know many of you are looking for an update on the current timeline for fulfillment. There are still just a few more variables we want to lock down before doing that, but I should have that for you all in the next week or two.

It's an App Teaser!

One thing we haven't really shown yet is the app, so let's have an early look at some screenshots shall we?

The usual caveats apply, i.e., this is a work in progress and some of this is going to get change as we get closer to the release date. On that subject, I've decided to leave in the delightful placeholders that our UI/UX designer, Sam Ballard, has used when laying out the screens. He has a, hmmm, Pythonesque whimsy that amuses us. Rest assured, we did not rename the Archwright to "Custard Patrol" and she is not a level 4 foe.

For this update, I'm giving you all a look at the game set up screens, where you select the adversary, main goal, foes, and confirmation:

As you can see, you'll be able to scroll through all of the available options or have the app select items randomly. Also worth reminding that each set-up has a unique "seed" that you can share with friends or online so they can give it a try.

A Quick Non-Update

Hi, all. I planned to do a substantive update this week. Unfortunately, 2020 just keeps rearing its ugly head. Tropical Storm Eta came through South Florida a little stronger than we anticipated, and I was without power for a few days. I'm just getting caught up. If you're waiting on a reply to a message, I should get through those by tomorrow.

Along the same lines, I had thought we'd be able to post the draft rulebook by now, but unfortunately someone on the team contracted COVID-19, which has delayed that a bit. **shakes fist** 2020! Happy to say they are on the mend an doing well, but it could be another couple of weeks until we have that done.

I'll be back next week with something meatier, probably some screenshots on how the app is coming along or more info about the Alliances expansion.
